I grew up on a dairy farm just outside of Ottawa and witnessed the hard work necessary to be successful in my personal and professional life. My parents also stressed the importance of a good education and the opportunities it would provide.

Numbers have always come naturally to me, so when I started looking at careers, accounting was a logical choice. I would be working with numbers but interacting with people as well.

Over the past 20+ years, I have developed relationships with my clients, the majority of whom are private business owners. Learning what is important to them enables me to provide the value added services that make me their trusted advisor, as opposed to just their accountant.

With each year that passes, the more I believe that for business owners hard work is only half the battle; the other half is getting the proper financial and tax planning advice to ensure the hard work pays off.

I think everyone should have access to good advice and be able to make informed decisions so that they can succeed.

Anne joined GGFL in October 2000 after starting her career at another mid-sized accounting firm. She became a partner in 2013.
