Patricia Day, Tax Partner, Retires After a Rewarding Career at GGFL
A new era has begun for Tax Partner Patricia Day as she retires to take on the rewarding role as a first-time Grandmother. Patricia and her husband Rick also plan to be trailblazers in their new RV and experience life as travellers for a while. She has a strong passion for plants and flowers, so we hope she’ll take time to “smell the roses” along the way!
Patricia (or Pat as many know her) came to GGFL from the University of Waterloo on a work term in 1981 and was made partner 1998. Her husband owned his own business, so she had a good understanding of clients’ concerns and frustrations, especially when it came to government paperwork. She believes this personal understanding helped her build meaningful relationships with clients.
She also invested the time to really get to know the clients. Patricia earned clients’ trust because she was honest with them. She would make recommendations, but let them make their own decisions.
Although Patricia’s specialty areas were tax and business valuations, she also had a vast knowledge in all areas of accounting services, which she gladly shared with all levels of staff. All this from an accounting co-op student who, over 35 years ago, had no idea what else she wanted to study at university!
We are sure everyone at GGFL will miss Patricia, and believe her clients will as well. We wish her the best of luck in her retirement. Happy travels, Pat!
