It has been a very busy six months for GGFL Partner, Jeffrey Miller, and we aren’t just talking about tax season! In addition to his recognition as one of Ontario’s newest CPA Fellows (FCPA), Jeffrey was recently awarded the Gilbert Greenberg Distinguished Leadership Award. We are extremely proud of Jeffrey’s accomplishments, and honoured to have him as a Partner at our firm.
The Gilbert Greenberg Distinguished Leadership Award is the highest tribute the Ottawa Jewish Community can bestow on an individual, honouring a lifetime of leadership in the Jewish community.
Jeffrey Miller moved to Ottawa from Montreal in 1984 and quickly became an invaluable member of Ottawa’s Jewish community. His impressive list of volunteer work speaks for itself. Jeff was treasurer for Mackzikei Hadas Congregation, the Ottawa Torah Academy Board and Jewish Family Services, as well as president of Hillel Academy (now OJCS) for two years. He chaired two Millionaires Nights for the B’nai Brith of Ottawa, two Desert Classic Golf Tournaments in support of the Soloway JCC and Hillel Academy, and has canvassed for the Jewish Federation of Ottawa (JFO) for close to 30 years. In 2010, Jeff was instrumental in chairing the Hillel Lodge Capital Campaign to raise $5,000,000 for its expansion. He also successfully co-chaired the JFO’s Annual Campaign for two years.
In her nomination letter on behalf of Jeffrey, Elissa Lieff says, “Jeff is a mensch – a true believer in community. He sees others as colleagues, regardless of the diverse positions they may hold on various issues; he strives to work collaboratively in order to build consensus for the greater good.”
Jeff’s contributions to the community and our business continue to inspire us all. Congratulations Jeff!
