After spending a year at a big four accounting firm, Daniel Wong has made a much-anticipated return to GGFL, bringing with him a renewed appreciation for the firm’s unique culture.
Daniel’s return to GGFL was driven by his fond memories of the firm’s collaborative and supportive environment. “What I missed and what I came back for are kind of one and the same: the culture,” he said. “The work at the big four firm was quite similar to what I was doing at GGFL, but the culture at GGFL is what sets it apart. Here, there’s a very collaborative approach, with people working together and supporting each other.“
Daniel spent the first five years of his career at GGFL before making the move to a Big Four firm. He highlighted the learning opportunities at GGFL as one of the factors in his decision to return. “I’ve always been someone who values the opportunity to continue developing and improving myself,” Wong noted. “At GGFL, there’s never a shortage of opportunities to grow. The culture here is very supportive, and there are many capable and willing people to help you learn.“
Daniel also emphasized the varied work experiences available at GGFL. “Regardless of your level, you get to work on a wide range of tasks,” he said. “This diversity in work is something that really stands out at GGFL. Getting to work a wide variety of work offers great learning opportunities to staff at all levels.“
For Daniel, the leadership at GGFL played a significant role in his decision to return. “The culture and tone of the working environment are often dictated by the leadership,” he explained. “The leadership here at GGFL is exceptional, and that was a big draw for me. It’s great to see the leaders in my team and how they shape the culture.”
In addition to the professional benefits, Daniel appreciated the social aspects of working at GGFL. “We have lots of big celebrations, from holiday parties to May luncheons and pub nights,” he said. “It’s great to feel part of these events and enjoy the social side of work.”
Daniel is excited about his future at GGFL and looks forward to continuing his professional development. “I’m always looking for opportunities to improve myself,” he said. “As I progress in my role, I’m excited about becoming more client-facing and building external relationships. There are so many opportunities to grow here, and it’s exciting to be part of that.”
